A Luminary in
Classical Dance
With over 25 years of dedication to the art of classical dance, Smt. Ambily Rajeesh has woven her passion into a vibrant tapestry as a teacher, performer, and choreographer. Her journey led her to establish Bhavayami, a prestigious institution that shines as a guiding light for aspiring dancers eager to hone their skills.
An SAAC-accredited artist in Kuchipudi, Smt. Ambily's accolades include the esteemed Sree Sankaracharya Award (2005) and the Kerala Nruthya Mayuri Puraskar (2020). Her academic pursuits are equally impressive, holding a postgraduate degree in English Literature and a Diploma in Kuchipudi from REVA University, Bangalore.
From the tender age of five, she trained under the watchful eye of Smt. Sudha Peethambaran, mastering Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam. Her talent shone brightly in youth festivals, culminating in a state-level victory in Bharatanatyam in 2003.
Since 2014, she has deepened her understanding of Kuchipudi under Smt. Geetha Padmakumar, while continuing her Bharatanatyam studies with Smt. Kalakshethra Prameela Hariharan and Sri. Kalakshethra Hariharan. At Bhavayami, Smt. Ambily nurtures every student — ensuring the legacy of classical dance continues to flourish.
